So! This is completely off of topic for this but I did mention somewhere that my female german shep was preggers! Well this morning at 6am she became a proud mommy of 9 puppies. She did great all on her own through it all because I was fast asleep. She ended up have 6 girls and 3 boys, all healthy and cute as can be.
Thats the momma with her babies! Shes so good at this :)
I just thought I would share this with you all! Have a good day!

That's Awesome!! Congrats!!!!
ReplyDeleteActually, having puppies may be closer to having a toddler than you think. We got our Greyhound (Tibbs) when he was about 10 weeks old. He came up from Mexico in an old ice chest with four siblings and no mother. He was bottle raised at the Greyhound rescue. When we got Tibbs, he was playful, but he really did not have any training. I have told my wife that in hindsight; it was as if we had a child to raise. His juvenile behaviors and “I want to do it my way” attitude reminded me of a three or four old. You said that there are now nine puppies. I am sure that their mother will do most of the “puppy rearing”, but I also think that you may find yourself playing “parent” to the puppies, as they get a little older. I hope you keep us posted on Zachary’s progress and also on the puppy’s progress. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteI sure will keep it posted! When I was a kid i "worked" for my neighbor who bred her yellow labs and I raised at least 5 litters at a time. Was quite the experience and I'm getting that nostalgia about it with this. Zach has already been introduced to them and all he says is "ooooh babbieessssss" and lays with them. He does get a bit grabby though so visitation is limited at this time! haha!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine having that many puppies all at once! Congratulations!
