Flu Season is upon us

Tis the season to try to ward off any unwanted illnesses, which isn't the easiest task when it comes to children! My wife and I always get Zach his shots but don't always have time to go for ourselves, oddly enough. So then we are stuck with lots of preventative care to worry about so that we don't bring something home to him. This year, all is well so far! I have had it but did not pass it on at all which was amazing because the way our schedules are ran, he is always with one of us over the other during work hours.

What are your ways to prevent sickness in the household? Or better yet, when you do have sick kids/adults what are your remedies?!

Zach and "Babies!"

As everyone knows from the last entry, our house was blessed with 9 baby puppies the other morning. Now we have introduced zach to the litter and BOY OH BOY is he obsessed with them! We have the puppies and the mom in the garage so all Zach will do is go up to the garage door and say "babies? c'mon! babies!" We were definitely nervous at first with the introduction but it went amazingly well.

We did it in three visits before he actually got to hold or touch any of them and I am so happy that he is gentle. He holds them and just keeps saying "babies...awww" and then will put them back, with toddler coordination haha. It is amazing how much toddlers/babies know about and we just are in the greyscale when it comes to these things. So much intelligence in these tiny bodies!

That about wraps that up. Signing off for today!

We have Puppies!

So! This is completely off of topic for this but I did mention somewhere that my female german shep was preggers! Well this morning at 6am she became a proud mommy of 9 puppies. She did great all on her own through it all because I was fast asleep. She ended up have 6 girls and 3 boys, all healthy and cute as can be.

Thats the momma with her babies! Shes so good at this :)

I just thought I would share this with you all! Have a good day!

First Babysitter

Ok, so today marks the first day (ever) that we have to have a babysitter for Zach. It may seem like I am just a bit crazed about this, but I just really don't know how to think about a person watching my son for me. Ever since he was born it was just Lisa (my wife) and I and we never asked for help. Not to say we didn't think people would do a good job, it isn't that at all!

From my standpoint I can protect him from many MANY things while I am there, but while I am at work and someone else is watching him....what will go down?! My son is a very hyper and active little man, of which is typical I am sure, and not everyone handles it the same. I understand this is just something I will have to go through and get used to but my goodness is it tough!

All you parents out there, I commend you for having this issues erased. On top of that: How did you get over it? Or were you never worried?

Random thought of my day because today is judgement day for this matter!

Do you have time?

Every day I feel as though I am challenged with the time of day. I know that I am definitely not alone, although it feels that way on some occasions. If you take a look at the day you lived just yesterday, there are always those moments that you know could have or should have gone differently. The thing that I notice most is that I seem to lose myself in school, which isn't a bad thing, making it hard to pay my son the attention he needs (or wants!).
When it comes down to it, you gotta do what you gotta do when it comes to responsibilities. And I am not even saying that kids take boat loads of time, all that I am saying is that sometimes the time is not available and things get left undone. With that being said, I find myself also putting school off to make sure that my son has me for the time he needs. Which then I ask myself if I even have time for school when my son is developing so rapidly and needed a bit more in depth attention!

It just makes you wonder if you are doing things right and for the best of your children. Which, I am SURE that everything is how it is supposed to be. The other quest is how do you keep yourself from wondering these things? Or are you the only one that thinks about the issues of time when it comes to raising kids?

I know that I would not change anything that I am doing, only because everything that I am working for is to secure my wife and sons health and living. There are motives behind the actions, and for those reasons you find yourself making worthwhile decisions and compromises that are both beneficial and harmful in ways.

Just make sure you are happy with you because you are doing what you can. I am still learning about all of this and I thought it might be interesting to see others opinions about the topic.
